Swear this one you'll save. Better lock it, in your pocket.
Likes: junk food, animals, winter, thunderstorms, comedy movies, sleeping, reading crime/sci-fi novels (and comics), hiking, driving her motorcycle, loud music
Dislikes: cooking, housework, uncomfortable silences, romantic movies, seafood, getting stuck in traffic, people who spend all their time with their partner, arguing with her father/grandparents, daytime television, liars
Strengths: physically strong- taekwondo blackbelt, stamina, wit, fears very little, able to cheer people up, loyal friend
Weaknesses: can't deal with emotions well, little experience with relationships, no culinary skills at all, hates dealing with her family, has a habit of getting into trouble.
Secrets: wants to be able to cook decent meals for herself, actually does watch soppy romantic movies sometimes, hopes her father will take notice of who she is, wishes she knew her mother better, values her friends more than she admits to.
Overall Personality:
Growing up in a house with five guys, Terri was constantly fighting to be heard, and as a result, she is very loud and outspoken as an adult. Nothing stops her from voicing her thoughts, and woe betide anyone who tries to tell her to 'shut up'. If she has an opinion of someone, good or bad, she'll tell them straight without really considering possible consequences. Teresa finds awkward silences unbearable, and will break them if she is faced with one. Despite being physically able, she will tend to argue with her mouth rather than her fist. She can seem somewhat irritating and rude to those that aren't used to her, and is known to be a smart alec, too.
If she wants to do something, chances are Teresa North will do it, with or without permission. If the idea is in her head, it isn't going to leave because someone else wants it to, even if she knows herself that it isn't a very good idea. Terri will stick to the choices she makes, even though she isn't always happy to accept the aftermath of them later. Her stubborn nature comes from constantly clashing with her father and brothers- none of the family are known for stepping down in an argument, including Teresa. She is not willing to compromise her own beliefs for anyone, and isn't afraid of showing it. Her stubborn nature again means she can often come off as rude to people, and it's rare for her to apologise for it.
Teresa has learnt over the years to rely on herself, and herself alone. Though she is happy to be in the company of other people, she is not willing to let herself need anyone. At all. Ever. Relationships have never been her strong point, and after a few past experiences, she has set herself in the mindframe that they are pointless, at least for her, and has a cynical view of romance in general- as well as most other relationships between people. Teresa is unwilling to let her family support her financially, prefering to try and manage alone rather than accept their help when she does need it.
Having to live with four brothers and her father definitely didn't make Teresa a sissy. Knowing that no one was going to listen to her unless she could get them in a headlock, she grew up very much a tomboy, constantly fighting with her brothers and the boys that lived near them. She is a blackbelt in taekwando- a skill she uses to her advantage when needed.
As well as being physically strong, Terri can be considered tough emotionally too- pretty much no subject is taboo for her, and there is very little that bothers or offends her. But when you do offend her, look out, as she doesn't take it lightly.
When she's nervous, Teresa tends to play with the ends of her hair, or bite her fingernails- a habit she is trying to kick. If faced with an awkward silence, she usually begins to ramble, often about herself or something that has annoyed her. She often lip-sings to songs if she is listening to her iPod, and sometimes just sings along anyway, without realising it. Even though she's rebellious, she doesn't particularly like getting into trouble about it- because it just causes more arguments. She speaks with a weak northen english accent.
Taking this one to the grave. If I show you, then I know you.

Overall History:
Teresa was born in the north of England, to Clark and Sylvia North. Her father owns his own company, NorthAir, an air travel business. Her mother passed away when Terri was two years old, after a long on-and-off battle with cancer. Being the youngest of five children, Teresa was never going to have it easy as far as family arguments went. Add in the fact that her older siblings all happened to be male, and a lack of female influence, and you have one of the main reasons why Teresa grew up to be the person she is today.
As a child, Teresa was somewhat rebellious and caused a few porblems for her father, who eventually shipped her off to a boarding school when she was eleven, hoping it would straighten her out a little. When she was thirteen, she was expelled for fighting, and her father agreed to let her attend a local co-ed school instead, which led to her getting into even more fights- one of which left her with a broken arm, leading her to take up taekwondo. During her school days, she tended to hang around with guys more than girls, further shaping her into a tomboy.
Once she left compulsary education, she moved from job to job, struggling to find something she both enjoyed and could actually do well enough to earn money for it. Several failed attempted relationships taught her that she was better off alone, and she became more and more independent, eventually moving to another country with nothing but her motorcycle (which she bought with part of her college fund) and a rucksack of her belongings, looking for a new start in life, away from everyone she knew.
After she moved away, Teresa struggled at first, but eventually found a job she could just about bear, working as a delivery girl for a preservation company, and a cheap little single-storey house to rent until she could afford her own place. Her father eventually tracked her down, but she refused to return home, or take any money from him. Her brothers also payed seperate, unnanounced visits on their dad's wishes, but most of them realised their little sister was serious this time.
Three years after moving, Teresa has settled in fairly well. She's still at the same, ever-so-slightly boring job; but has managed to find a few people she trusts in the city- and she's rattled some people's cages, too. She hasn't spoken to any of her family in about eighteen months, and intends to keep it that way for as long as possible.
Won't tell what I said. Cause two can keep a secret.
Role Play Example:
To say that Teresa North felt uncomfortable wandering around through the local strip club would be an understatement. The woman was just about ready to scream. Places such as this one annoyed the crap out of her, for numerous reasons. Women willing to take their clothes off for money, men acting like even bigger asses than normal. The name, Pleasure Island, irked her as well- it made the place sound even seedier. Being in here pretty much summed up why a lot of people didn't like this district, and Teresa herself was beginning to regret agreeing to come here.
A friend of hers from work had called, asking if she'd seen her boyfriend at all in the last few days. When Teresa said she hadn't, the girl had sounded pretty worried, and Teresa had offered to look for him with her. The 'with' had gotten slightly lost in translation, because whilst her friend drove around to people's houses to try and find him, Teresa was stuck with the clubs he could have gone to, and this place was top of the list. She'd never been too fond of this guy anyway, but if he was here, he was going to be even less popular- with his girlfriend as well as Terri.
She'd been walking around Pleasure Island for about five minutes now, looking more and more out of place the longer she stayed. Whilst pretty much everyone else seemed to be scantily clad and covered in make-up, Teresa wore a t-shirt under her jacket and ankle boots over her jeans, carrying her motorcycle helmet in her hand. Deciding that she was just about ready to leave this damn place, she glanced around the tables and sofas again, fully aware she was probably sticking out like a sore thumb.
When she reached the front of the club, close to the stage, she ducked down a little as she walked, staying (mostly) out of people's line of sight, she hoped. Looking around again, her eyes eventually fell on someone she thought she recognised, but who was not the person she'd been looking for here. Taking a few steps closer, she cocked her head, thinking. It hit her a few moments later, when she reached his sofa. "Gaston Durand?" The words came out sounding a little more surprised than she actually was. Then, she realised she'd spoken out loud rather than thought it. Shit. The two of them had met before, a long time ago. Infact, they'd met a few times, over several years- through their fathers. But then Teresa had left home, and whether or not this guy had any idea who she was now, seven or eight years later, was anyone's guess.
