Winnie T. Pooh lounged out in the blazing sun, as comfortable as one could when they, well, were lounging on a hard wooden park bench. He fanned himself slowly with his paper fan. The slight warm breeze from it washed over his face, making his honey colored hair twitch. He squinted beneath the brim of his green and white striped hat at the glaring sun. A frown was etched across Winnie's face. It was such a boring day.
Suddenly, Winnie felt something big and furry nuzzling at his face. He batted it away irritably. "Hunny! Bad boy!" he scolded. He turned his head, looking sideways at his pet. The big golden bear sat as obediently as a golden retriever. A red collar, attached leash snaking over to Winnie's hand, was linked around its neck. Winnie leaned over, plucked a stick from the grass, and hurled it into a clump of trees. "Fetch," Winnie said tiredly.
Just as he said so, the bear's big tongue shot from its mouth, spraying Winnie's face with a coating of saliva, and took off after the stick. The leash was suddenly yanked, pulling Winnie from the bench and onto the ground. He let out a yelp. The leash disappeared from his hands, bouncing after the bear. Winnie stared, wide-eyed, after Hunny. After his shock had subsided, he sat up. He looked down, dismayed to find his paper fan had been crushed beneath him. He lifted it up and gazed after his pet once more. "Oh. Oh dear," he said. A bear was loose in the park. Yikes. He didn't even want to think of what would happen if someone found Hunny wandering around. Animal Control had taken the blasted bear once, and the poor thing had been terrified. "Oh dear," Winnie repeated. He stood. And then he started towards the trees where Hunny had disappeared.
